Master Suite Addition

Here are some pictures of a master suite addition that I completed this last summer. I say I, but the project would not have gone as well or as far without the help, hard work and professionalism of: (in order of appearance)

The dimensions are 12' x 24'. One of the interesting elements of the addition was to incorporate 9' ceilings onto a bedroom that is 8'.

Before:Master Bdrm is behind the double windows on right.
Bath is behind single window. 

After: Double Windows re-located and re-used.

Specifications of project
  • 2 x 6 studs on 24" Centers
  • 1" Dow Styrofoam SIS (for insulation and structural properties)
  • LP SolidStart I-Joists and rim joist system
  • Trusses
  • Blown-in cellulose (walls and Ceiling)
  • Icynene foam on inside of rim joist and sill plate
  • 2" Thermax Foam board on inside of block crawl walls
  • 10 mil plastic on crawl floor
